The Putney Chair was designed as a comfortable, relaxed lounge chair with a strong yet unobtrusive presence.
The design is built around the contrast between two materials. Soft, foam forms the upholstery, providing comfort and visual warmth, while a cast aluminium armrest and frame give the chair its structure.
These elements are brought together to create a single, coherent object. The open frame keeps the chair visually light despite its solid materials.
The aluminium’s rounded edges and smooth lines contrast with the soft foam, creating a balance between structure and comfort.
The visible joint where the armrest meets the backrest is a subtle, honest detail. Finishes can be polished or powder-coated, offering straightforward options.
The chair’s low, wide proportions encourage a relaxed posture, and the bolted connections make assembly and maintenance simple.
